Well, so it's eventually the Xperia Z4 name (not the Z3 Neo) which was announced, but only for Japan. Here are the specs:

Or is it just a concept? Well - it does consider latest rumours - a fingerprint scanner in the revamped home button and a metal chasis and also probably it will not follow the "Z line" in the naming aspect (bye bye Z4 name).   Y letter perhaps? . Anyways it all looks really nice! (and it is taken from major leaks of Sony documents - so it could the real deal!)

Another leak suggests that also Sony Xperia Z4 will get a fingerprint sensor (Updated)

According to vizileaks not only Xperia Z4 Ultra, but also the normal Xperia Z4 will get a fingerprint scanner in the home button + the design will be all-metal and may use a imx3xx sensor.
Also the naming could be changed, so can we say bye to Z series?

Sony Xperia Z3 Neo? (UPDATED!)

According to sources around esato forum and xda forum and vizileaks, the pictures and renders which present the claimed Sony Xperia Z4 show.....Sony Xperia Z3 neo! It is possible that sony releases the Z3 neo in May/June and Sony Xperia Z4, Z4 Compact and Z4 Ultra will be shown at IFA Berlin this September or presented in November! (remember the leaked strategy of Sony few months ago? "May/November release for new devices) sounds very possible!

New Sony Xperia Z4 camera samples

Another day, another Xperia Z4 leak. This time first camera samples of the smartphone leakes, showing the 20.7Mp camera capabilities. The comments regarding those photos are rather negative, as Sony seems to (still!) have problems with software algorithms. Anyways, the software is still not final, so let's hope something will change when the device is released.

New Sony Xperia Z4 photos, info regarding release (updated!)

The latest rumours say that Xperia Z4 will visit FCC on the 1st of May heading for May/June release along with Xperia Z4 Ultra nad Compact! but some other sources claim that Sony will wait for IFA, time will tell. just look at the new live photos:

According to my info it will have:
- 5.2inch screen (NOT 5.1inch)
- 3000-3100mah battery (NOT 3400mah),
- the rest of the specs include: Snapdragon 810 CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage

Sony is interrested in implementing a fingerprint scanner. Z4 Ultra possible

Well this leak you have to take with a grain of salt. Sony is looking for a way to implement a fingerprint scanner to future Xperia smartphones. Forget about Sony Xperia Z4 cause it's too late for this to take place, but Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra might feature one of these and it's said that it could be implemented in the frames of the device (this method was shown at MWC). It is also rumoured that Xperia Z4 Ultra will have a 5.95inch screen with thinn frames. It could be unveiled at IFA or later in the autumn this year.

More details of Sony Xperia Z4 leak (Updated)

According to one of the esato forum leakers Sony Xperia Z4:
- is quite the same size as Xperia Z3, but a little thinner,
- the camera makes better photos,
- the edges of the phones are shiny (not only the back and the front have a glossy look, the edges too!),
- the battery is between 3000-3100 mah
- there is one slot for microSD card and simcard.

That's it, what do you think, is the Z4 a true step forward compared to Z3?

This time, the leaks speaks for itself. It looks like a person is holding a covered prototype or a dummy of Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra and at the back of the picture you can see a green Sony Xperia Z4. Have a look:

No new curved sensor for the Sony Xperia Z4?

Several months ago Sony presented a new curved sensor with better sensitivity and overal image quality. It was tipped that the sensor will be found in the Sony Xperia Z4, but the latest news say NOT. The camera sensor will be the IMX230 which has a phase detection and is a little bit improved over the sensor in Sony Xperia Z3, so it's only a little step forward. Anyways sony should really focus on imrpoving their camera software algorithm too which is the worst among others (like Samsung and Apple).
